Dr. Muaz Oseili: “Üsküdar became a turning point in my dream academic journey”

Palestinian Dr. Muaz Oseili shared his academic journey as the first student of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Institute of Health Sciences Health Management Doctoral Program. His love for Turkey, the knowledge gained during his education, and his messages to young people drew attention. Dr. Oseili emphasized that Üsküdar Üniversitesi was a turning point in his dream academic journey. 

Palestinian Dr. Muaz Oseili, the first student of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Health Management Doctoral Program, recounted his academic and personal development journey. 

“It became one of the most important turning points of my life”

Stating that he came to Turkey after winning a scholarship, Oseili emphasized that Üsküdar Üniversitesi was one of the turning points in his life.
“Doing a doctorate was a goal I had dreamed of since childhood. Coming to Turkey after winning a scholarship became one of the most important turning points of my life. Being the first doctoral student of Üsküdar Üniversitesi was an unforgettable honor for me,” he said.

“I developed my scientific competencies, increased my personal resilience”

Dr. Oseili stated that he gained significant academic and personal achievements during his time at Üsküdar Üniversitesi.

Oseili stated that he gained competence in areas such as research, analysis, article writing, and statistical evaluation academically; “Thanks to the expert and experienced academic staff in the field, I developed my scientific thinking skills,” he said.

He also emphasized that his teamwork, effective communication, and problem-solving skills strengthened personally.

Thesis Topic: “Examination of Patient Safety Culture of Healthcare Professionals”

Oseili's doctoral thesis examined the perceptions and attitudes of healthcare professionals working in private hospitals in different regions of Turkey regarding patient safety culture.

Oseili stated that he closely observed the importance of this issue during the pandemic period; “I believe this research will contribute to health policies and clinical practices,” he said.

“Üsküdar became a stop of love and belonging for me”

Expressing that his years at Üsküdar Üniversitesi were unforgettable for him, Oseili said that he found a sincere environment both academically and humanely.

Stating that he was inspired by the lessons of Rector's Advisor Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Haydar Sur; “Üsküdar is a love, this love is reflected in the entire atmosphere of the university. Thanks to my professors, I never felt like a stranger,” he used the expressions.

Additionally, Oseili stated that he had the opportunity to work with Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan at NPİSTANBUL Hastanesi; “Working one-on-one with Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan inspired me both academically and humanely,” he said.

“Turkey is my second homeland”

Palestinian Dr. Oseili expressed his attachment to Turkey with these words:

“The reason I chose Turkey was cultural and spiritual closeness. Here, people saw me as 'Turkish', which was a great happiness for me. Turkey is my second homeland.”

Dr. Oseili’s message to young people…

Dr. Oseili addressed both Turkish and Palestinian youth, emphasizing the importance of education.

To Turkish youth; He conveyed the message: “Always prioritize education, progress with determination and patience. Utilize the technological opportunities in Turkey for education.”
To Palestinian youth, he said hopeful words: “Being Palestinian is not easy, but your determination is limitless. The sun rises after every darkness. One day Palestine will gain its freedom.”

“Being a student at Üsküdar Üniversitesi is a privilege”

Stating that his academic goals include contributing to scientific production in the international arena and building a bridge in the field of health between Turkey and the Middle East, Oseili concluded his words as follows:

“Üsküdar Üniversitesi is not only an educational institution but also a home of inspiration. Being a student here is a privilege.”
