Members of Dostlar Divanı, who have been gathering for years, came together online within the scope of pandemic measures. The program, moderated by writer Sami Özey, was also attended by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan. At the meeting, held online for the first time, Tarhan said; “Our new Dostlar Divanı is evolving, it is progressing.”
Dostlar Divanı, hosted by 58 esteemed names from the business, culture, arts, bureaucracy, media, and education worlds, took place online. During the program, which proceeded with conversations and poems themed 'Friendship,' current issues were also discussed. Vocal artist Mehmet Akça also performed the song titled “Erişti Nevbahar Eyyamı” in the program.
“Continuing the program online might be more efficient”
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, who was among the guests of the program, said; “The online version of the program might be more efficient. Emotional transfer can now also happen online. If we met face-to-face now, half of our faces would be covered by masks, but when it's online, we can see each other and move independently of location. If there is sincerity and camaraderie within the online environment, the other party perceives it. That's why Dostlar Divanı can also continue online. Perhaps it could be even more efficient this way. An advantage here is that we can see the names. I know many of our professors by face but not by name. We got to see and greet them.”
The event concluded with a prayer led by Istanbul's former Mufti Rahmi Yaran.
