Today, traditionally defined tools such as newspapers, radio, cinema, and television cannot remain independent of digitalization. Experts emphasize that masses no longer wait for the next day's newspaper to access broadcasts, stating that people can convey their content, accessible everywhere and at all times, to audiences by making regular broadcasts on their own newspapers, televisions, or radios. Experts point out that the importance of Communication Faculties is increasing with the provision of digital skills and the acquisition of a rich academic perspective.

Newspapers are no longer waited for to access news
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication, Radio, Television and Cinema Department's Dr. Lecturer Denizcan Kabaş made evaluations about digitalizing mass communication and the importance of communication faculties.
The next day's newspaper is no longer waited for…
Stating that traditionally defined tools such as newspapers, radio, cinema, and television cannot remain independent of digitalization, Dr. Lecturer Denizcan Kabaş said, “Digitalization cannot be overlooked, from the design phase of ideas to be produced for all kinds of broadcasts, to the concrete content emerging as a result of the implementation processes. The transformation here can also be related to the audience's location. Audiences no longer stay glued to a device at specific times to access broadcasts, nor do they wait for the next day's newspaper to get information about current events.”
Social media channels offer a rich communication environment
Stating that social media channels create a rich communication environment far beyond the operational logic of traditional tools, Kabaş said, “Audiences in this environment are active not only to access content but also to individually produce new content and address broad audiences. In previous periods, there was a need for advanced technological infrastructures, specialized employees in various fields, and financial resources crucial for all of this to happen. Today's digital environments, however, offer new opportunities to overcome these needs more quickly, effectively, and in a more developed manner.” he added.
Individuals can create their own news networks
Dr. Lecturer Denizcan Kabaş, also noting that individuals can establish their own televisions and implement their desired broadcast types, said, “They can reach audiences with their newspapers by creating their own news networks, or transmit their content, which can be listened to anywhere and anytime, to audiences by making regular broadcasts on their own radios. However, at this stage, both the up-to-date acquisition of technical knowledge and the execution of ideal communication processes from a rich perspective gain importance.” he stated.
The importance of Communication Faculties is increasing
Dr. Lecturer Denizcan Kabaş, stating that university communication faculties are increasing their importance day by day for both the acquisition of technical knowledge and the provision of digital skills in this direction, as well as the acquisition of a rich academic perspective, concluded his words as follows:
“Although mass communication can be easily maintained in all respects through internet-based technologies, academic education is a priority stage for questioning and verifying acquired information, and for ensuring that the produced broadcasts carry intellectually and ethically correct qualities.”
