An event titled ‘Digital Marketing and Career Talks’ was held by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication, Department of Advertising. LEVELUP CEO Onur Yılmaz and LEVELUP General Manager Mehmet Safa Yalçıntaş were guests at the event. Many topics regarding digital marketing and marketing in the digital realm were discussed.
The event, held at the Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall of the South Campus, saw significant participation.
Onur Yılmaz: “There is generally a wrong perception about marketing”
LEVELUP CEO Onur Yılmaz, emphasizing that marketing must first be understood to comprehend digital marketing, stated; “There is generally a wrong perception. Marketing is often thought of as if a product or service is produced, reaches a certain sales stage, and then strategies are drawn up for how to sell it. Marketing is not like that. Marketing is the sum of efforts that encompass the production, planning, communication, budget, and strategy of a product or service, ultimately serving sales by bringing the product or service together with potential customers and ensuring its sale. Digital marketing, on the other hand, is the process of reaching and interacting with the target audience using the opportunities offered by modern technology.” he said.
“Thanks to digital, we have a significant interaction rate”
Onur Yılmaz, drawing attention to the five main advantages of digital marketing, said; “Thanks to digital, we have a significant interaction rate both in our country and worldwide due to high reach. With online research and purchasing habits, we are the third country that shops the most online. With precise targeting, we can make segmentations based on age, gender, location, education, family status, sector, interest, income level, and behavioral characteristics. For global targeting, sixty-eight percent of the eight billion world population are mobile users, and sixty-four point four percent are internet users, so we have significant interaction here too. With low cost and measurement capabilities, when you advertise on television, everyone sees it, but online, only relevant people see it. Therefore, the cost is low. In terms of measurement, we can observe these user behaviors.” he said.
Mehmet Safa Yalçıntaş: “You must work to start a job and see it through to the end.”
LEVELUP General Manager Mehmet Safa Yalçıntaş, speaking about what should be written in a CV, said; “Your CV should include your personal qualities. You need to work somewhere, it doesn't matter where. Why should you do this? You must work to start a job and see it through to the end. You must work to be able to receive instructions from someone and internalize them. You must work to communicate with people you've never met and achieve something together. You must work to observe what people do in a crisis. You just have to want to learn, put your mind to it; you can learn a lot even from a bird's flight. Just try to understand. If you don't have a certificate, you shouldn't write down your hobbies.” he said.
The event concluded after students' questions were answered.
