Data Journalism Workshop Held at Üsküdar University's Faculty of Communication

A 'Data Journalism' workshop was organized by the Journalism Department of Üsküdar University's Faculty of Communication. Students showed great interest in the workshop, where data journalism was discussed and the importance of news production with data was explained. Students who put their theoretical knowledge into practice were also entitled to receive certificates at the end of the workshop.

The workshop, held at Üsküdar University's South Campus Design Laboratory, was attended by the Head of the Journalism Department of the Faculty of Communication, Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan, Journalism Department Lecturer Dr. Sadettin Demirel, and students from the Faculty of Communication.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, the Head of the Journalism Department, Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan, stated that the aim of the work was to explain data journalism to students and to convey the importance of news production with data.

Theory Turned Into Practice 

In the workshop led by Lecturer Dr. Sadettin Demirel, important information regarding data-driven news production processes was shared. Demirel explained research techniques and digital tools that form the basis of data journalism with examples, and practically demonstrated how data can be used in news. Students had the opportunity to put theoretical knowledge into practice.

Certificates Issued to Participants

At the end of the workshop, certificates were given to the students by Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan and Lecturer Dr. Sadettin Demirel. 
The event concluded with a group photo session.
