Sibel Öztürk: “Quality is a way of life”
Quality Management Systems Specialist Sibel Öztürk, drawing attention to the importance of quality management systems in institutions, said: “The Quality Management System, as a quality professional, is a method of working systematically. Quality is a way of life. To establish this system, you first need to obtain an ISO certificate. If you become a credible company by possessing certain characteristics, your work will proceed more easily. You define your risks and goals. You are open to continuous improvement. As a company and a hospital, you will always be one step ahead of others. There are certain processes in quality management. These include monitoring the quality management system and evaluating its performance. That is, identifying risks. Managing patient requests and complaints processes, which internal audit activities are one of the most important issues. Playing a role in the preparation of quality documentation, identifying internal deficiencies and ensuring preventive actions are taken, and conducting process development studies. To create an effective system in quality management, one must have good documentation; in other words, do what you write, write what you do. Throughout your professional life, no matter what profession you are in, you will always encounter procedures and forms.” She said.
Salih Şimşek: “Be a conscientious and skilled radiology technician”
Salih Şimşek, emphasizing the characteristics a Radiology technician should possess by stating that radiation is always present in our lives, said that radiation is a form of energy transfer. Şimşek said, “When we hear radiation, we always perceive it as something bad. There is harmful and non-harmful radiation. There is non-ionizing radiation. That is, phones, computers, Wi-Fi systems, microwave ovens, heaters that we use everywhere in our lives. They don't cause harm, but they are also a form of radiation. However, as the frequency increases and the wavelength decreases, and its energy starts to increase, it begins to harm us. In the world, the only professional group authorized to administer radiation to a person is radiology technicians. You are administering radiation to a person. However, there is no proven evidence regarding the harm of non-ionizing radiation. We can even receive radiation through breathing, nutrition, or even the water we drink. As a radiology technician, you need to be careful when performing scans. If you encounter a radiology technician who has incorrect information or doesn't know the dose they are giving to the patient, then good luck to you. Be very careful about this. Therefore, be a conscientious and skilled radiology technician. Be aware of what you are doing to patients.” He said.
The seminar, which attracted significant interest from participants, concluded with a group photo session after a question-and-answer event.
