Cooperation Protocol Signed Between Üsküdar Communication and Fotospor Group

Under the main sponsorship of Üsküdar Üniversitesi, the “Sports Journalists Compete” project will be implemented. A protocol signing ceremony was held for the project. Within the scope of the cooperation realized between the Faculty of Communication and Fotospor Group, students of the Faculty of Communication will also have the opportunity for practical experience and application. 

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication, Department of Journalism, is expanding its external stakeholders. In this context, a cooperation protocol was signed with Üsküdar Üniversitesi and Fotospor Group. 

The cooperation protocol signing ceremony, held in the Üsküdar Üniversitesi Senate Hall, was attended by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, Fotospor General Coordinator Cahit Yavuz, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahar Muratoğlu Pehlivan, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication Department of Journalism Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gül Esra Atalay, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector's Advisor Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan, Former Footballer and Technical Director Giray Bulak, Secretary General Selçuk Uysaler, and Üsküdar Üniversitesi Head of Corporate Communications Tahsin Aksu. 

Üsküdar Üniversitesi will provide all necessary support for the filming of the “Sports Journalists Compete” project. As part of the main sponsorship, the project will be carried out in the Üsküdar Üniversitesi Radio and TV Studios.

 Communication students will have internship opportunities at Fotospor Newspaper…

Within the scope of the project, Faculty of Communication students will also have the opportunity to intern alternately at Fotospor Newspaper for the months of July, August, and September 2024. 

Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör: “This project will proceed on the Faculty of Communication side”

In her speech at the protocol signing ceremony, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör emphasized the importance of cooperation, stating, “We gathered here to sign a protocol between Fotospor Group and Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication to undertake various projects together in the future. This project will primarily proceed under the leadership of the Journalism Department, within the Faculty of Communication. Our Radio, Television, and Cinema Department will also provide support.” 

Cahit Yavuz: “We wanted to meet with the youth in this project”

Fotospor General Coordinator Cahit Yavuz spoke about the importance of the project at the signing ceremony. Yavuz said, “We are truly happy. We decided to pursue such a venture. We are a team that works day and night, but it is very difficult for us to meet with young people. We especially wanted to meet with young people in this project. We will have the great pleasure of undertaking this project together with Üsküdar Üniversitesi. We have two projects. One is a certificate program, where we, as Fotospor, want to both practice with our team and learn new things by incorporating theory. This is very important for us. May it be auspicious from now on.” 

Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan: “We are doing such a project for the first time”

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector's Advisor Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan drew attention to the Faculty of Communication's close ties with the industry. İrvan said, “As Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication, we have a very close relationship with the industry. Some of our students want to develop themselves in this field. In fact, sports journalism has become a quite preferred area. I attach great importance to this project. I hope this cooperation will lead to other projects in the future. As external stakeholders, we have cooperated with many institutions so far, but this is the first time we are doing such a project.” 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gül Esra Atalay: “As the Journalism Department, we are expanding our external stakeholders…”

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication Department of Journalism Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gül Esra Atalay stated that the project is an opportunity for students. Atalay said, “We are quite excited about this project because we believe it will be a very important opportunity for our students, and it will also be very positive for our university to be associated with such a project. As the Journalism Department, we are expanding our external stakeholders…” 

Giray Bulak: “We were very happy to be with you”

Former Footballer and Technical Director Giray Bulak expressed his happiness regarding the cooperation. Bulak said, “I was very happy to be with you. I am also very pleased with this rapprochement with Üsküdar Üniversitesi. Hopefully, there will be good works hereafter, and we will contribute both on behalf of our students and on your behalf.” 

Tahsin Aksu: “This project will greatly benefit our institutions…”

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Head of Corporate Communications Tahsin Aksu expressed his satisfaction with this cooperation as Corporate Communications. Aksu said, “We believe that our mutual cooperation will greatly benefit our institutions, both through internship opportunities and specifically through this project.”
