Cooperation Meeting on the Future of Our Civilization's Sphere

Burak Sarman, Headquarters Universities Coordinator of the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA), and his accompanying delegation visited Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan in his office. During the meeting, where cooperation issues concerning the future of our civilization's sphere were discussed, the 'Universal Human Values and Rights Manifesto,' prepared in partnership by Üsküdar University and Kazakhstan L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University, was also discussed regarding students from the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, and Palestine. 

TÜGVA Vice President and Universities Coordinator Burak Sarman and his entourage met with Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan in his office.

Sarman and his entourage informed Tarhan about the activities and projects they have undertaken as TÜGVA. 

Attention Drawn to the ‘Universal Human Values and Rights Manifesto’

During the talk, the importance of the Universal Human Values and Rights Manifesto, which has garnered nearly 400,000 signatures, was discussed. 

The manifesto, which draws attention to the events in the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, and most recently in Gaza, was prepared in partnership by Üsküdar University and Kazakhstan L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University and opened for signatures. 

The manifesto, supported by hundreds of universities from many countries around the world, is planned to be submitted to the UN General Assembly and Security Council.

Support for Middle Eastern, Central Asian, African, and Palestinian Students 

During the meeting, which also discussed the events in the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, and Gaza, Palestine, the support provided to students from these regions studying at Üsküdar University was also addressed.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, who emphasizes his support for these students on every platform, noted that Üsküdar University Intercultural Club recently organized a ‘Syria’s Freedom Celebration Program,’ during which Syrian students studying at Üsküdar University celebrated Syria’s freedom with great enthusiasm, and replaced the Syrian flag among other country flags at the university with a new one. 

Tarhan, expressing his support for Palestinian students continuing their education within the university during these difficult times, stated that Üsküdar students are looking out for these students. 

A Sun is Rising meeting…

During the cooperation meeting held concerning the future of our civilization’s sphere, the ‘A Sun is Rising’ meeting, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, January 1, at Galata Bridge to protest oppression and stop the massacre in Palestine, was also brought up.
