Cooperation meeting held for four social innovation models

Under the scientific consultancy of Üsküdar Üniversitesi and with the support of the Ministry of Interior's General Directorate of Civil Society Relations, a cooperation meeting was held within the scope of the “Four Social Innovation Model Project,” planned to be implemented under the chairmanship of Ümraniye District Governor Yüksel Çelik. The meeting addressed strengthening the disaster-resilient societal structure. Innovative models focusing on supporting independent living for vulnerable groups, expanding integrated health services for children, and protecting the family institution were evaluated.   

The meeting, held at the Ümraniye District Governorship, was attended by Ümraniye District Governor Yüksel Çelik, Dean of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Ergün Yücel, Community Contribution Coordinator Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar, Head of Family Medicine Department, Faculty of Medicine, Asst. Prof. Ayhan Özşahin, Positive Psychology Coordinator Asst. Prof. Fatma Turan, Istanbul Provincial Deputy Director of Family and Social Services Ayten Yılmaz, Ümraniye District Director of National Education Mustafa Özen, Ümraniye Social Services Director Muhammed Can Safi, Ümraniye Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation Director Abdullah Gök, Ümraniye District Mufti Abdulkerim Çelik, Ümraniye District Chief Clerk Ali Gencer, and Ümraniye District Health Director Dr. Cemal Karaağaç. 

Innovative models discussed

The meeting was moderated by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Community Contribution Coordinator Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar. Innovative models for strengthening the disaster-resilient societal structure, supporting independent living, expanding integrated health services for children, and protecting the family institution were discussed. 

Projects discussed at the meeting

    •    Disaster-Resistant Households: Creating household structures that are prepared, resilient, and aware against disasters

    •    Protection of Independent Living (YAŞAMKOR): Supporting independent and safe living for vulnerable groups

    •    Child-Friendly Integrated Health Services Support Model: Holistic, accessible, and sustainable health services for children

    •    Family Protection (AİLEKOR): A protective and preventive social innovation model aimed at strengthening the family structure

Common roadmaps determined

At the end of the meeting, a common roadmap was determined for strengthening public-university-civil society cooperation, initiating pilot applications, and disseminating the models. 

This collaboration aims to create an exemplary implementation model that increases social resilience and generates sustainable social impact.
