'Children's Homes Volunteers Project' Completed

The 'Children's Homes Volunteers Project,' carried out in cooperation with Üsküdar Üniversitesi and the İstanbul Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, has been completed. The project, led by Dr. Lecturer Remziye Keskin, Dr. Lecturer Zeynep Gümüş Demir, Lecturer İdil Arasan Doğan, and Res. Asst. Seher Sav, aimed to increase emotional support for children living in children's homes and to ensure their psychosocial well-being by closely monitoring physical, social, and psychological variables.

The aim was to foster a sense of volunteerism among students

The project, carried out under the leadership of Dr. Lecturer Remziye Keskin from Üsküdar Üniversitesi Institute of Social Sciences, and Dr. Lecturer Zeynep Gümüş Demir, Lecturer İdil Arasan Doğan, and Res. Asst. Seher Sav from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, has been successfully completed.

Within the scope of the social responsibility project, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Psychology department's 3rd and 4th-year students Sinem Uçak, Rabia Yıldız, Berrak Duygu Özkan, İrem Aksu, Gizem Hacıarifoğlu, İrem Aşıkkutlu, Ali Adıtepe, Emine Ocakbeği, Sinem Sandal, Elifnur Yüksek, İrem Yel, Büşra Cengiz, Selin Tümer, and Simay Karaçavuş came together, aiming to foster and spread a sense of volunteerism among students.

Psychodrama, art, and science workshops were created

In the project, which targeted children aged 7-9 years within disadvantaged groups, psychodrama, art, and science workshops were established for children, with the aim of enabling them to spend more social and active time through the provided education and activities.

The project yielded positive results in terms of identifying children's emotional needs, addressing these needs with positive interventions, and supporting their development, serving as an example for future work.
