Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Medicine organized the 'IVF' program online via Zoom. Üsküdar University Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department Prof. Dr. Cem Çelik was a speaker in the program.
In the highly attended program, Prof. Dr. Cem Çelik evaluated the history of IVF treatment, how it emerged, in which situations it should be applied, and how it should be implemented.
"IVF is a General Term for All Stages"
In the program moderated by Zeynal Abidin Kocadağ, Prof. Dr. Cem Çelik, who spoke about the stages of IVF treatment, said: "IVF is a general term for the stages of ensuring the growth of egg cells, then retrieving these egg cells, combining them with sperm outside, creating an embryo, and transferring the embryo we created into the uterus. These are the stages of the procedures we call IVF."
"We Provide Treatment by Giving Hormones Externally in High Doses"
Çelik, referring to the processes of IVF treatment, said: "As you know, there are hormones in our bodies that ensure the growth of ovaries, and these are renewed monthly in every woman. We provide treatment by giving these hormones externally in very high doses to enable more eggs to grow."
