Üsküdar Üniversitesi The Career Days organized by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Career Center Directorate have begun. The first guest of the event, held within the scope of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Sector Meetings, was Esra Hande Keskin, Human Resources Manager at Berko İlaç. Keskin, who advised young people on important points to consider when preparing their CVs, also provided information about Berko İlaç.
“We recommend that the CV does not exceed one page”
Keskin offered advice on points to consider when preparing a CV; “The most important thing is the CV. Long sentences can distract the other party. Therefore, it is necessary to use shorter sentences when preparing a CV. It is important to avoid false and misleading information. We recommend that a good CV does not exceed one page. While photos used to be very important in CVs, we can now see that they are not as crucial. If a photo is included, it should be proper and passport-style. Care should be taken not to create prejudice in the other party. Providing contact information such as an email address projects a more professional image. Attention should also be paid to spelling and punctuation marks,” she said.
“Pre-preparation is important for a good CV”
Keskin, also touching upon what an individual can do before creating a CV and preparations before an interview; “Internships are very important; if possible, an internship should definitely be done at a good place. Participation in school events and social activities is also among important points. We recommend participation in education, certificate programs, and courses. Following current events and having hobbies are extremely important. Before going to an interview, one should have a strong CV, a detailed LinkedIn profile, and a kariyer.net profile. Proper communication and attire are important details in an interview. Pre-determining emails and announcements, and being familiar with announcement details are also points to consider. The interview is a two-way process. It involves processes such as receiving information, giving information, and creating a positive impression. Generally, we can see the importance of pre-preparation for a good CV,” she stated.
