An interview titled ‘How Did Bloody Christmas Come About in Northern Cyprus?’ was held, moderated by Dr. Güler Kalay, Assistant Director of Üsküdar University PPM (Political Psychology Application and Research Center). Prof. Dr. Ulvi Keser, Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences at Girne American University, participated as a speaker in the event, which was organized as part of the University Culture course.

Within this context, in the online program, Prof. Dr. Ulvi Keser, Dean of Political Sciences at Girne American University, began his speech by providing information about the history of Cyprus. Keser stated that the Republic of Cyprus was established on August 16, 1969, and noted that, according to the constitution, Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots were considered the primary elements of the Republic. Keser added that those other than Turkish and Greek Cypriots were considered Maronites, Romani people (whom they refer to as 'gurbetler'), Levantines, Armenians, and the Jewish minority.
In the interview, which also included a Q&A session, the massacre initiated by Greek Cypriot terrorist organization EOKA militants against Turkish Cypriots on December 21, 1963, and known as 'Bloody Christmas' in history, was discussed from many aspects.
