An event titled ‘Video Journalism as a Form of News Production’ was organized by the Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication, New Media and Communication Department. BBC Turkish News Video Editor Ege Tatlıcı attended the event as a guest. Tatlıcı shared his industry experiences with the communicators. Students showed great interest in the event moderated by Dr. Lecturer Ceren Acun.
“The importance of foreign language in journalism and video editing is immense”
During the event held at the Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication, South Campus Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall, BBC Turkish News Video Editor Ege Tatlıcı addressed the rules to be observed when performing video editing. Emphasizing the importance of foreign language in journalism and video editing, Tatlıcı stated; “To be a good video editor, one needs to work hard. Acquiring new information through research and putting it into practice is important in our self-development process. The importance of foreign language in journalism and video editing is immense.”
Tatlıcı, pointing out that a journalist should not be shy, said; “When producing a news story, it is important to be motivated and to balance the news. Infographics are an important detail in the future of video journalism.”
As the event continued with a Q&A session, Tatlıcı offered advice to young communicators regarding education and professional life in the industry.
