Autism Awareness Emphasized with the Ministry of Family and Social Services

Deputy Minister of Family and Social Services Sevim Sayım Madak and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Usta, President of the Federation of Autism and Disability Associations, visited Üsküdar Üniversitesi. During the meeting, attention was drawn to autism awareness, and the possibility of developing projects related to autism was discussed. It was also emphasized that academic studies related to autism could be carried out between Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Social Work Department and the Ministry of Family and Social Services.

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector's Advisor Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector's Advisor Halide İncekara, Head of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Social Work Department Prof. Dr. İsmail Barış, and Üsküdar Üniversitesi Deputy Secretary General Ayşe Öztürk participated in the meeting held at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Çarşı Campus. 

Autism awareness highlighted

During the meeting, attention was drawn to autism awareness, and it was discussed that projects related to autism could be carried out in cooperation with Üsküdar Üniversitesi and the Ministry of Family and Social Services. It was also emphasized that academic studies related to autism could be conducted between Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Social Work Department and the Ministry of Family and Social Services. 

Evaluations made on the Autism Action Plan

During the meeting, evaluations were made on the Autism Action Plan. The revitalization of the Istanbul Care and Rehabilitation Family Counseling Center and the increase in Autism Day Care Centers were also discussed at the meeting.

During the meeting, views were also exchanged on Üsküdar Üniversitesi Child and Adolescent Development & Autism Center (ÇEGOMER) and the “Families at University” project.
