Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Audiology 4th grade students experienced the joy of wearing white coats. The families of the students did not leave them alone on these happy days.
The event held at Üsküdar University NP Health Campus İbni Sina Auditorium was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Arif Ertuğ Ertekin, Head of the Department of Audiology Asst. Prof. Didem Şahin, Department of Audiology Instructor Gör Gökçe Gültekin, Audiology Department instructors, students and parents, especially RA Yeter Saçlı, RA Busemnaz Avşar Aksu, and RA Büşra Aksu.
Prof. Arif Ertuğ Ertekin: "The audiology department has a really dynamic team"
The opening speech of the gown-wearing ceremony was made by Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Arif Ertuğ Ertekin. Ertekin stated that "The audiology department has a really dynamic team. So much so that from time to time, an intertwined environment is created that cannot distinguish who is a student and who is a teacher. It is really hard to find a department that is so friendly and close to its students. The pandemic was a challenging process for all of us. But he also taught the world many things. Despite these difficulties, we are proud of our 12 students who continue their education and are among us today. The difference between the health field and other occupational groups is that you are in direct contact with people. You touch people, you add something to them. You share their feelings, their lives, their joys and sorrows. You heal together, you grieve together. This is the most human and special aspect of our profession.".
Asst. Prof. Didem Şahin: "Our aim is not only to provide theoretical or practical information..."
Speaking at the opening of the ceremony, Head of the Department of Audiology Asst. Prof. Didem Şahin stated that "I have been working at this university, in this department, for about 7 years. We are trying to carry out this four-year department in the best way with Professor Gökçe, Professor Yeter, Professor Büşra and Professor Busemnaz. Our aim is not only to provide theoretical or practical knowledge. We strive to provide our students with a friendly, sincere and effective educational environment. At the same time, we are trying to convey to them what it means to be a good person, to be a moral and understanding individual with ethical values."
Berna Aldemir: "These aprons are a symbol of respect for human life"
Speaking at the event, Berna Aldemir, 4th year representative of Üsküdar University Department of Audiology, stated that "We have gathered here today to take a step that is very meaningful for all of us. These white coats we will wear are not just an outfit, but a symbol of responsibility, commitment to a profession and respect for human life."
The theater play titled "Difficulties in the Field of Audiology" was exhibited
After the opening speeches, the theater play titled "Difficulties in the Field of Audiology" was performed by the students of the Audiology department. Within the scope of the play, it was emphasized that health should be addressed through scientific methods rather than traditional means, while also conveying the message that health should never be treated as a secondary priority.
After the theater play, the white coat ceremony started.
The audiologists of the future, who wore their gowns with great enthusiasm, shared this happiness with their families.
The ceremony ended after a group photo shoot.
