Audiologists from the Field Gathered for Their Experiences

“Career Days in Audiology” event was organized by the Audiology Department of Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences. During the event, Audiology graduates met with students and shared their sectoral experiences. Information and advice on career choice, career process, and the opportunities offered by the field of audiology were provided, and students' questions were answered. 

,The event, held at Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Ibn-i Sina Auditorium, was attended by Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Audiology Department Head Dr. Lecturer Didem Şahin, Audiology Department Research Assistant Busemnaz Avşar Aksu, Speech and Language Therapy Research Assistant Ceren Söğüt, as well as Audiology Department graduates Hacı Ali Yılmaz, Betül Yıldızlı, Halid Hamza Demirel, Azize Baydere, Mert Ardan, Hilal Kavrut Açıkgöz, and Furkan Yaşar. 

Dr. Lecturer Didem Şahin: “We host a program we can proudly present”

Making the opening speech of the event, Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Audiology Department Head Dr. Lecturer Didem Şahin said; “Today has a special meaning for me. I've been here for 7 years. For the first time, we are hosting a program that we can proudly present. Because we are having a program with 9 guests whose education I've been able to touch, even if a little, over 7 years, and I am sure they are somewhere successful today, and I am proud of that. As I said, this will be the first time we host audiology graduates. Therefore, I am a bit prouder compared to our other events.” 

Research Assistant Busemnaz Avşar Aksu: “Areas of work are very diverse”

Speaking within the scope of the event, Audiology Department Research Assistant Busemnaz Avşar Aksu said; “My reason for choosing Audiology was the diversity in its areas of work.”

Research Assistant Ceren Söğüt: “You need to love research”

Advising the students, Faculty of Health Sciences Speech and Language Therapy Research Assistant Ceren Söğüt said; “The indispensable thing is that you need to love research. If you don't love it, it's not something you can do.” 

Audiologists gave advice to students

Speaking at the event, Audiologist Betül Yıldızlı gave advice to students about professional life. Yıldızlı stated; “Being trustworthy, doing your job well, and being proactive are very important in our professional life here.” 

Audiologist Hilal Kavrut Açıkgöz conveyed her interest in the profession with her impressions during her university years. Açıkgöz said; “I entered Audiology saying what a magnificent department it was, and I studied it with great love.”

Speaking at the event, Audiologist Furkan Yaşar emphasized his love for Audiology. Yaşar stated; “I studied Audiology with great love.” 
Audiologist Hacı Ali Yılmaz mentioned that it made him happy to be able to help people. Yılmaz said; “Working in a hospital, touching people's lives is a very beautiful thing...”

Audiologist Mert Aydın expressed that he started to love the department after choosing it; “I started to love this department from within the department.”
Speaking at the event, Audiologist Azize Baydere talked about her motivation for studying audiology. Baydere said; “My grandfather's hearing loss motivated me to study this department.”

Audiologist Halit Hamza Demirel expressed his satisfaction in helping people. Demirel stated; “It is very gratifying to help people hear.” 

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation and a group photo session.
