Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Audiology organized a "Career Days in Audiology" event. At the event, Audiologist graduates came together with students and shared their sectoral experiences. At the event, where information and advice were given on the choice of profession, career process and the opportunities offered by the field of audiology, the questions of the students were also answered.
The event held at Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences İbni Sina Auditorium was attended by Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Head of Audiology Department Asst. Prof. Didem Şahin, Department of Audiology RA Busemnaz Avşar Aksu, Language and Speech Therapy RA Ceren Söğüt, and graduates of the Department of Audiology Hacı Ali Yılmaz, Betül Yıldızlı, Halid Hamza Demirel, Azize Baydere, Mert Ardan, Hilal Kavrut Açıkgöz and Furkan Yaşar.
Asst. Prof. Didem Şahin: "We have a program that we can proudly present"
Making the opening speech of the event, Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Head of Audiology Department Asst. Prof. Didem Şahin stated that "Today has meaning for me. I have been here for 7 years. This is the first time we have a program that we can proudly present. Because for 7 years, we have been doing a program with 9 guests who I have been able to touch their education, even if it is small, and I am sure that they are somewhere today and I am proud of it. As I said, it will be a program where we host audiology graduates for the first time. Therefore, I am a little prouder compared to the other events we have done."
RA Busemnaz Avşar Aksu: "The fields of study are very diverse"
Speaking within the scope of the event, Department of Audiology RA Busemnaz Avşar Aksu expressed that "The reason I chose audiology was because of the diversity in the fields of study," she said.
RA Ceren Söğüt: "You have to love research"
Giving advice to the students, Faculty of Health Sciences Language and Speech Therapy RA Ceren Söğüt said: "You have to love research. It's not something you can do if you do not like it."
Audiologists gave advice to students
Speaking at the event, Audiologist Betül Yıldızlı gave advice to the students about their professional life. Yıldızlı stated that "Being reliable, doing your job well, being sociable is very important here in our professional life.”
Audiologist Hilal Kavrut Açıkgöz conveyed her interest in the profession with her impressions during her university years. Kavrut expressed that "I entered audiology thinking what a wonderful department it is, and I loved reading it.”
Speaking at the event, Audiologist Furkan Yaşar emphasized his love for Audiology. Yaşar stated that "I read audiology very fondly.” Audiologist Hacı Ali Yılmaz mentioned that he was happy to help people. Yılmaz stated that "It is a beautiful thing to work in a hospital, to touch people’s lives..."
Audiologist Mert Aydın stated that he started to love the department after choosing it and said: "I started to love this episode within the episode.” Speaking at the event, Audiologist Azize Baydere talked about the reason why she encouraged her to study audiology. Baydere stated that "Reading this chapter motivated me because of my grandfather's hearing loss."
Audiologist Halit Hamza Demirel expressed his pleasure in helping people. Demirel expressed that “It is very gratifying to help people hear.”
The event ended with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation and a group photo.
