Üsküdar University’s Social Contribution Coordinator, Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar, participated in the International Trade and Economics Congress and Summit held in Rize with two academic presentations. Through her talks focusing on the role of green transformation in economic sustainability and the social status of women in Rize, Asst. Prof. Yaşar made a notable academic contribution, drawing attention to issues such as environmental innovation, cultural sustainability, and social development.

The International Rize Trade and Economics Congress and Summit was held at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Congress and Culture Center, bringing together prominent figures from academia, the public sector, and the business world, including President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Representing Üsküdar University, Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar contributed to the academic discourse with two separate oral presentations.

The importance of green transformation was addressed

In her first presentation, titled “Green Transformation and Innovation in Sustainability: Dynamics of a New Economic Paradigm,” Asst. Prof. Yaşar examined the strategic significance of green transformation in achieving economic sustainability. She evaluated, from a scientific perspective, how environmental changes create new opportunities within economic systems, explored innovation-oriented development models, and discussed regional implementation examples from Türkiye.

Women’s social roles examined

In her second presentation, titled “Women’s Social Roles, Cultural Codes, and Behavioral Tendencies in the Context of Rize,” Asst. Prof. Yaşar shared the findings of a field study investigating women’s social roles, cultural codes, and behavioral patterns within the socio-cultural structure of Rize. Her research approached themes such as regional identity, gender roles, and cultural sustainability through an interdisciplinary lens.

A meeting point for science, economy, and culture

Throughout the congress, sessions were held under topics including “Green Transformation,” “Digital Economy,” and “Industry and Investment Opportunities.” The program aimed to promote Türkiye’s Black Sea region to the world by highlighting its economic potential within the framework of innovation and sustainable development.
