Üsküdar Üniversitesi Preference and Career Consultant Exp. Psychological Counselor Ece Tözeniş, drawing attention to the importance of the career test in career choice, stated that the career test also prevents candidates from choosing professions and fields they might regret in the future. Tözeniş said, “Approximately 20% of the candidates taking the university exam each year consist of students who have previously been placed in a university, completed a university, or withdrawn their registration from a university. Students who experience regret as a result of choosing professions that are not suitable for their personality traits, interests, and abilities try to find a more suitable department for themselves by preparing for the exam again.”

Tözeniş pointed out that only 59% of the students who took the 2022 YKS were placed in one of their top 5 preferences, saying, “These students might have written their own dreams in the top ranks or fulfilled the dreams of their close circle. The remaining percentage of students might have been placed in the departments they wanted, but perhaps they wrote down departments they didn't want just to enroll in a university.” Thus, she directed students with doubts to the career test.

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Exp. Psc. Cons. Ece Tözeniş stated that the Career Test, also known as the “Holland Occupational Themes Scoring Scale,” consists of 90 questions. Tözeniş said, “The candidates' 'I like' or 'I dislike' answers to the questions reveal their personality type. In the Career Test, where the distinctive features of types defined as ‘Realistic’, ‘Investigative’, ‘Artistic’,
‘Social’, ‘Enterprising’, and ‘Conventional’ stand out, activities suitable for these types and typical professions are explained.”
She added that the career test can be accessed via the link https://uskudar.edu.tr/tr/kariyer-testi and the results can also be evaluated online with Üsküdar Üniversitesi career counselors.
