Antalya Youth Workshop brought together new ideas and inspiring projects…

Future youth leaders, guided by the 2071 vision, gathered at the 'Antalya Youth Workshop' held within the scope of the “My Values, My Tradition, and Science; I Am Young Türkiye” Project. Young participants received 'Project Cycle Management Training' from Dr. Lecturer Nebiye Yaşar, Director of Üsküdar University Young Brains Academy. The workshop aimed to encourage young people to discuss new ideas, develop inspiring projects, and make positive contributions to society. 

 

90 young people from various universities participated in the workshop, which was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, led by the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, advised by Üsküdar University, and organized in cooperation with the Antalya Governorship Provincial Social Studies Projects Directorate, White Cane Association, İLKE-Der, and Black Sea Civil Society Organizations (KASTOB) with the support of Muratpaşa Youth Center.

‘Project Cycle Management Training’ was provided

At the workshop, which encouraged young people's solution-oriented approaches to social problems, innovative thinking, and cooperation, Dr. Lecturer Nebiye Yaşar, Director of Üsküdar University Young Brains Academy, provided “Project Cycle Management Training.” 

At the workshop held at Antalya Aladdin Keykubat Youth Camp, Dr. Yaşar stated that the workshop encouraged networking, knowledge, and experience sharing among young people.

Offers an opportunity to gain collaboration skills…

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sami Mencet, a faculty member at Akdeniz University and one of the project's academic advisors, provided academic support to the projects prepared by young people through mentoring. Mencet said, “This workshop offers an opportunity to unleash young people's potential to find solutions to problems in their own communities, while also equipping them with leadership and collaboration skills.”

Süleyman Yıldız, Director of Muratpaşa Youth Center, Antalya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, provided significant support to the workshop with youth and youth leaders from the Youth Centers. Yavuz Gürhan, Director of Antalya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, emphasized that they support the development of young people in all areas and that young people stand out as the key to social transformation and development. 

KASTOB Chairman Nevzat Duyar stated that young people are fulfilling their mission of preserving their values and traditions in the light of science and through this youth workshop. 

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: “Those with passionate projects win”

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Founding Rector of Üsküdar University, in his message, stated that enthusiasm and passion must be incorporated into any work undertaken. He said, “Those with passionate projects win. If one embraces a project with love and zeal, it becomes a successful project. It is essential to infuse your work with your excitement and passions.”

Participants, who developed projects in sustainability, education, technology, health, and many other fields and inspired each other by presenting them, developed the following projects with their mentors to address various issues:

Project work on “Popular culture bullying” under the mentorship of Süleyman UYSAL, Provincial Social Studies Projects Director of Antalya Governorship,

Project work on “Insufficient participation of young people aged 18-29 in decision-making processes” under the mentorship of Hakan Şimşek and Rumeysa Bayraktar, Research Specialists at Antalya Governorship Provincial Social Studies Projects,

Project work on “Early age substance use (Addiction)” under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sami Mencet, Faculty Member at Akdeniz University,

Project work on “Passivity/unproductivity in technology” under the mentorship of Youth Leaders Tolgahan and Elif Yıldırım from Muratpaşa Youth Center, Antalya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports,

Project work on “Uncertainty and future anxiety in young people” under the mentorship of Hülya Yılmaz, Chairman of İlke-Der Board of Directors,

Project work on “Insufficient social-emotional development in children aged 0-6” under the mentorship of Nevin Kır, Board Member of İlke-Der,

Project work on “Degeneration of the Turkish Language” under the mentorship of Gülbahar Uyar, Board Member of İlke-Der,

Project work on “Drug and substance addiction” among individuals aged 13-29 under the mentorship of Erkan Yaman, PhD Student at Akdeniz University,

Project work on “Online Gambling Addiction” under the mentorship of Nevzat Duyar, Chairman of Black Sea Civil Society Organizations,

Project work on “Unhappiness of the new generation of young people aged 18-25” under the mentorship of Ayşegül Bedir, Youth Leader at Muratpaşa Youth Center, Antalya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports.
