“Animal Farm and Reading Guide,” Co-Authored by Tarhan, Now on Shelves…

George Orwell’s beloved book Animal Farm has been published as an original work with a reading guide. Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan from Üsküdar Üniversitesi analyzes Animal Farm from the perspective of psychology, Cemâlnur Sargut from Sufism, Prof. Dr. Sinan Canan from neuroscience, and Journalist Kemal Öztürk from political communication, providing their insights.

Üsküdar Üniversitesi hosted a significant visit today. Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Founding Rector of Üsküdar Üniversitesi, was visited by author Hasan Kerim Güç, founder of Nefes Publishing, Tuti Kitap, and Genç Tuti brands.

The book ‘Animal Farm and Reading Guide,’ which met readers through Tuti Kitap in recent weeks, is attracting the attention of readers.

Authored under the guidance of Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Founding Rector of Üsküdar Üniversitesi, Cemalnur Sargut, Rector's Advisor at Üsküdar Üniversitesi, Prof. Dr. Sinan Canan, Head of the Neuromarketing Department at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Journalism Lecturer Kemal Öztürk from the Faculty of Communication, the book is gaining readers' appreciation.

Author Hasan Kerim Güç, founder of the publishing house, who made significant efforts in preparing the book for publication by Tuti Kitap, visited Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, one of its authors, in his office.

Güç presented Tarhan with a copy of the book, which he co-authored.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan said about the book: “Animal Farm is a book that engages children's minds and directs them towards meaning, showing that nothing is as we think it is. Therefore, it is one of the works that must be read.”

Cemalnur Sargut stated: “Animal Farm is one of Orwell’s signposts for the future. These signposts are striking because they have been experienced exactly the same way in the past. It sells more copies, and should continue to, because it tells of something he experienced in his era, I experienced in my era, and my grandchild will experience in their era!”

Prof. Dr. Sinan Canan’s views are as follows: “In my opinion, delivering messages through a story is always more impactful. Because stories always attract more interest and are more widely embraced. If Orwell had told this story by naming Stalin, it might not have been so effective.”

Kemal Öztürk drew attention to a striking detail about the book. Öztürk stated: “Animal Farm is among the books that have maintained their popularity for years and are still on bestseller lists. What distinguishes this translation in your hands from others is its publication with a “reading guide.” In this guide, you will find the book’s summary, important concepts, characters in the novel, and discussion questions related to the novel.”

In the book, which will feature writings prepared from interviews with Üsküdar Üniversitesi faculty members, Nevzat Tarhan provided analyses and evaluations from the perspective of psychology, Cemâlnur Sargut from Sufism, Sinan Canan from neuroscience, and Kemal Öztürk from political communication.
