With the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Üsküdar University’s Young Minds Academy and the International Student Support Team organized an event titled “Intercultural Bridge in Sustainability: From Awareness to Action.”

The event, held within the framework of the university's social contribution vision, aimed to deepen the human connection with nature.
Three distinct workshops were held as part of the event.
Sustainability and social innovation in nature workshop
In the workshop led by Dr. Nebiye Yaşar, Director of the Young Minds Academy, and Dr. Gülcan Ayral, Director of International Student Relations at the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports, students explored various ways to connect with nature. They gained hands-on knowledge about ecological awareness, nature-based education, and sustainable life cycles.

Seed ball workshop
Moderated by psychologist Sinem Bayram, participants created seed balls, contributing directly to nature through this simple yet impactful ecological action.
Guided by biomedical engineer Melike Özdemir and Melissa Gündoğdu, this workshop focused on healthy, nature-inspired alternatives to chemical-based products. Participants produced their own natural deodorants and learned about ecological product design.

A model of collaboration between university, NGOs, and public institutions
The event provided not only theoretical insights but also a hands-on, interactive space where participants could engage, create, and take responsibility. Serving as an example of collaboration between the university, non-governmental organizations, and public institutions, the initiative offered young people the opportunity to gain practical knowledge in their journey toward sustainability.
