The additional preference period for the Higher Education Institutions Exam, which began on September 20, will end on Thursday, September 23. Experts state that health application trainings offer theoretical knowledge together with professional internship opportunities, thus enabling students to gain experience before graduating. Assistant Professor Dr. Öznur Karaloğlu, Head of the Health Institutions Management Program at Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services, and Lecturer Damla Yılmazoğlu, Head of the Medical Promotion and Marketing Program, shared important information about the advantages their departments offer to students.

Lecturer Dr. Damla Yılmazoğlu stated that the Medical Promotion and Marketing Program aims to train and bring into the sector qualified personnel who are primarily preferred and employed within the needs of the pharmaceutical and medical sectors for employment. She said, “The curriculum of the Medical Promotion and Marketing program was created to meet the sector's need for qualified personnel. Lecturer Dr. Damla Yılmazoğlu stated that graduates of the Medical Promotion and Marketing program are employed as Medical Promotion Representatives in national and international pharmaceutical companies, medical companies, and pharmaceutical warehouses. • Students can use Turkish and body language correctly with effective communication and negotiation skills,

Opportunity to transition to a bachelor's degree with Double Major and DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam)
Yılmazoğlu, stating that students studying in the Medical Promotion and Marketing program have some advantages regarding double majors, continued her words as follows:
“Students have the opportunity to pursue a double major in Opticianry, Biomedical Device Technology, Pharmacy Services, and Health Institutions Management programs. Students who complete the program and graduate, if successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) administered by ÖSYM, gain the right to enroll in a bachelor's degree program suitable for their chosen programs. After the adaptation period and four-semester Bachelor's degree completion education applied in these programs, they are entitled to receive a bachelor's degree. With DGS, they can transfer to Public Relations, Public Relations and Promotion, Marketing, International Trade, International Trade and Finance, International Trade and Business Administration bachelor's programs.”

At the same time, students are provided with access to practical knowledge in many public and private healthcare institutions.”
“One University, Two Diplomas” application is available
Emphasizing that only academic success is not expected from students in terms of recruitment, Assistant Professor Dr. Öznur Karaoğlu continued her words as follows:
“Candidates are expected to have high-level equipment related to their field, strong communication skills, the ability to take on responsibilities required by teamwork, and the characteristics to identify problems and develop solutions. As the Vocational School of Health Services, we offer optional English preparatory education to students. At the same time, there is an application that allows successful students to receive “one University – two diplomas” by successfully completing the courses of a second program through double major studies. Students can obtain two diplomas by combining the Health Institutions Management program with different specified programs, thereby increasing their employment opportunities.”
Support for Erasmus and TUBITAK projects is also provided
Assistant Professor Dr. Öznur Karaoğlu stated that Health Institutions Management students have the opportunity to do internships abroad within the scope of the internship mobility program under the ERAMUS Coordination Office. She said, “Internship mobility offers students the chance to gain international work experience in one of the European Union Member countries during the summer between two academic years or after graduation, provided they applied while still a student. At the same time, associate degree students were also included in the application for receiving project support from TÜBİTAK under the 2209-A program. Our Health Institutions Management program students who have project ideas and are looking for suitable conditions to implement them will have the opportunity to strengthen both their professional and academic skills by participating in the Special Project Preparation Trainings to be organized.”
