İzzettin Selimoğlu, a graduate of the Department of History in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Üsküdar University, has achieved remarkable success by earning a fully funded doctoral scholarship at the prestigious Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) in Moscow. Selimoğlu was awarded the scholarship through a competitive program offered by the Russian government for international students, after successfully passing all required interviews and examinations.

An academic journey rooted in Üsküdar

Selimoğlu began his academic career at Üsküdar University, where he completed his undergraduate studies in History. He then pursued and successfully completed his master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations at the Institute of Social Sciences.

A strong background in research and administration

During his academic journey, Selimoğlu played active roles not only in academics but also in administrative and research domains. He completed an internship at the Strategy Development Directorate of Üsküdar Municipality and served as the Head of the Middle East Desk at Üsküdar University’s Center for Strategic Studies. He currently continues his work as a researcher at the Russia and Eastern Europe Desk.

In addition, Selimoğlu enriches his academic profile through participation in a TÜBİTAK-supported research project, further strengthening his scholarly contributions.

Now, by taking his knowledge and experience to an international platform, Selimoğlu will pursue his doctoral studies at one of Russia’s leading institutions, RUDN University. He is set to make valuable academic contributions in the fields of Turkey-Russia relations and regional studies, representing Üsküdar University and Türkiye on a global stage.
