The Youth Club, operating under the Üsküdar University Department of Health, Culture and Sports (HCS), demonstrated exemplary environmental awareness as part of November 11 National Afforestation Day. Students participated in the mass sapling planting event held in Silivri Balaban, hosted by the Istanbul Governorship and the General Directorate of Forestry. With the slogan “Breath for the Future, Hope for the World,” students showed their commitment to protecting the green homeland.

During the event, students planted hundreds of saplings and reinforced their environmental consciousness.
The activity not only brought fresh breath to nature but also increased young people’s ecological awareness.

Faruk Dündar: “We planted hope for the future”
Youth Club President Faruk Dündar emphasized that love for nature and environmental awareness hold vital importance for the future of societies. Dündar stated: “Today we did more than plant a sapling. We planted hope for the future, breath for nature, and a value that will stand as a legacy for tomorrow. We were inspired by the saying of the Prophet, ‘Even if the Day of Judgment comes, plant the sapling in your hand.’ Because we know that every sapling planted is a symbol of life, hope, and goodness.”

They worked together for the future
Throughout the day, students once again experienced the importance of working together for an environmentally friendly future.
At the end of the event, the students immortalized the day by taking photos with banners themed “One Sapling, A Thousand Hopes,” reflecting their love for nature and sense of environmental responsibility.

Sustainability and social responsibility always at the forefront
Throughout the year, the Üsküdar University Youth Club brings university students together around social awareness through projects focused on the environment, sustainability, and social responsibility. With each activity, the Youth Club aims to position students not only as participants but also as volunteer ambassadors of a greener future.
