2nd Reproductive Health Exhibition Opened

Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences, Midwifery Department, along with the First Touch to Miracle Club and the Turkish Family Health and Planning Foundation, opened the 2nd Reproductive Health Exhibition as part of AIDS awareness day. 

Among the first visitors to the exhibition, which was opened at Üsküdar University NP Health Campus, were Üsküdar University Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Aktuğ Ertekin, Head of the Midwifery Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Güler Cimete, and faculty members of the Midwifery Department, along with Üsküdar University students.

The 2nd Reproductive Health Exhibition was prepared by 2nd-year midwifery students within the scope of the Healthy Pregnancy and Midwifery Care course and consists of handmade models crafted from imagination as their raw material.

At the exhibition, with the contributions of the Turkish Family Health and Planning Foundation, consultancy and training services are also provided.

The midwifery students responsible for the exhibition state that with the consultancy and training services they provide, they aim to break the belief that every HIV-positive person in our society will get AIDS, and that the HIV virus, which affects human immunodeficiency, can be transmitted to them by hugging, shaking hands, or sharing the same meal with an HIV-positive individual.

With the education provided during the exhibition, it was emphasized that the HIV virus is not transmitted by hugging, shaking hands, sharing the same meal, or using the same toilet. Additionally, ways to protect against infection for safe sexuality, the symptoms of infection, and how safe sexuality should be practiced were highlighted.

Furthermore, at the exhibition, the First Touch to Miracle Club had the opportunity to share its club activities with its members through a promotional stand they set up.
