You are excited, and this is wonderful because excitement is the most important source of motivation on the path to success. As of today, set your goals and draw your roadmap in line with these goals. If you want to study communication to become a journalist, advertiser, or producer, you are taking the first step today. First and foremost, being a good communicator fundamentally means being a good person. Because our profession is intertwined with people and society. It is our responsibility to contribute to society and guide it towards betterment. For this, we must read a lot, develop our culture, and be close to art and science. The more we read, think, and question, the more versatile and visionary individuals we become.”

Prof. Dr. Gül Esra Atalay: “You are in one of Turkey’s best communication faculties”

Within the scope of programs where information about the university's entire operation and activities was conveyed, students from the Faculty of Communication also gathered. The opening speech of the orientation program was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Prof. Dr. Gül Esra Atalay.

Atalay stated; “Today is the first day of a four-year journey. During this process, we will work to prepare you for the sector in the best possible way and graduate you as communication professionals. You are truly in one of Turkey’s best communication faculties, and being a graduate of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication will be an identity you carry throughout your life. Therefore, I recommend that you actively participate in classes, events, and all opportunities. Being a university student is not just about attending classes; it also requires being intertwined with the city you live in, especially with the artistic and cultural opportunities offered by Istanbul. Participate in events, get to know the city, and draw from cultural riches. Because a communicator is an individual who is aware of everything and deeply involved with culture and art. We implement an open-door policy in our faculty. You can always reach out to your advisors, department chairs, and the dean’s office.”

Prof. Dr. Deniz Ülke Kaynak: “You will be able to create your own synthesis by blending different disciplines”

During the orientation of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, general information about the faculty was provided. The opening speech of the program was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Deniz Ülke Kaynak.

Over the next four years, we will not only convey knowledge to you but also teach you how to think, question, and learn. A university is a place where you can create your own synthesis by blending the perspectives of academics from various disciplines, not just a single source. What is important here is your desire to learn. We only guide the way. The university is also a strong networking area where you will gain new friendships, interests, and experiences. I recommend that you regularly attend your classes and actively participate in club and seminar activities. Following in the footsteps of our successful graduates, I believe that you too will make a difference in your field. Remember, your advisors and instructors will always be by your side during this process. I wish for these four years to be spent productively and efficiently, with mutual respect and love.”
