"2023-2024 Academic Year Opening Ceremony" Held at the Presidential Complex

The ceremony, held at the Beştepe National Congress and Culture Center within the Presidential Complex, was attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, President of the Council of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and state officials, as well as ministers, members of the Council of Higher Education, heads of relevant institutions, ambassadors, rectors, academicians, and students.

Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hikmet Koçak attended the opening ceremony, which saw the participation of all universities, representing Üsküdar University.
Making the opening speech at the ceremony, which was attended by the top management, academicians, and successful students of all universities in Turkey, YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar spoke about the increasing demand for higher education, support in the earthquake region, and sustainability efforts, in addition to emphasizing national and international projects and artificial intelligence-focused research, stating their goal for Turkey to be among the countries hosting the most international students.
Following the conclusion of the opening speeches, the “YÖK 2023 Outstanding Achievement Awards” were presented to their recipients by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.
