20 Athletes from Different Branches Chose Üsküdar

Üsküdar University continues to make a name for itself with its quality education, just as it does every year. In the 2020-2021 Academic Year, Üsküdar University, which supplemented all its branches with sports scholarships, signed contracts with student-athletes who have achieved significant success in their fields this year.

Following the announcement of the 2020 YKS placement results, approximately 20 student-athletes from various branches who gained admission to Üsküdar University were awarded sports scholarships. After completing their university registration, the student-athletes signed their athlete contracts with the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports.

Özcan Demir, Director of Health, Culture and Sports, stated that as Üsküdar University, they continue to support sports and athletes alongside education; “As Üsküdar University, we continue to support sports and athletes alongside education. Furthermore, we see it as our responsibility to increase our country's success in national and international sports organizations, contribute to the development of qualified athletes, offer different career opportunities outside of sports sciences, ensure the continuity of athletes in sports alongside their academic careers, and support athletes in their transition to higher education. In addition to our university's efforts, as the Directorate of Health, Culture and Sports, we are engaged in a comprehensive study that will better promote Turkish sports, our country, and by extension, our university, both domestically and internationally.” he said.

In Basketball: Şevval Kurtuluş, Mehmet Ulus, Bekir Sabri Karlı, Semih Öztürk

In Football: Serhat Uslu, Çağdaş Demirkaya, Melih Bozkaya, Recep Tayyip Gökteke, Furkan Şentürk

In Volleyball: Yasemin Sezer, Özge Özkan, Zekiye Ünal signed their contracts.

The happiness and excitement of the student-athletes, who gained admission to Üsküdar University and play in professional leagues, were evident as they received their university student ID cards and signed their athlete contracts.
