In cooperation with Üsküdar Üniversitesi, the Institute of Sufi Studies, Kerim Foundation, and TÜRKKAD, the 10th 'In Memory of Meşkure Sargut' Program, held this year, was organized with the theme “The Murshid in the Murid's Heart, the Murid in the Murshid's Heart.”

In the program, where the opening speech was delivered by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector's Advisor Cemalnur Sargut, honorary guest Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kara spoke about the day's theme. Two panels were held in the program, moderated by Dr. Asuman Kulaksız and Dr. Lecturer H. Dilek Güldütuna.

Cemalnur Sargut: “There cannot be a greater grace than loving Allah's beloved.”

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector's Advisor Cemalnur Sargut, who delivered the opening speech, expressed her feelings about her mother, Meşkure Sargut, with these words:

“We two siblings are truly the happiest, most fortunate two siblings in the world. We had the pleasure of living with three murshids (spiritual guides) who displayed various differences. It was not a murshid who taught us or explained to us, but one who showed us through their life, from whose every state we learned the Prophet's ethics; living with these great figures was very pleasant and equally very difficult... There cannot be a greater grace than loving Allah's beloved,” she stated.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kara: “Every awakening begins with an realization.”

The program's honorary guest, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kara, in his speech titled “The Murshid in the Murid's Heart, the Murid in the Murshid's Heart,” addressed the impact of Sufism on human beings.

Kara stated that the Sufi journey is classified in different ways by different masters; “Some speak of three stages (Sharia, Tariqa, Haqiqa), some four (with the addition of Ma'rifa), and others seven, ten, forty or more stages. What is important is not which system we follow, but our intention to embark on this journey. Every awakening begins with an realization. May Allah awaken us from the sleep of heedlessness and enlighten us with the light of truth,” he said.
