One out of every 5 candidates taking the university exam each year consists of students who have previously been placed in a university, completed university, or withdrawn their registration from university. Experts point out that the underlying reason for this is regret due to incorrect career choices that do not align with their personality traits, interests, and abilities.
Exp. Psych. Couns. Ece Tözeniş invites candidates to determine a suitable profession based on their interests and abilities using a career test, to avoid similar regrets.
Career test leaves no room for final regrets…
Üsküdar Üniversitesi helps university candidates with career selection through the online Career Test. With the Career Test, which has been applied since 2015, undecided candidates can determine areas where they can be successful in line with their own abilities and interests, while those who have already made a decision can test how suitable that profession is for them.
Career test provides candidates with the opportunity to test their career choices
Üsküdar Üniversitesi preference and career counselor, Exp. Psychologist Ece Tözeniş, drawing attention to the importance of the career test in career selection, said, “Approximately 20% of the candidates taking the university exam each year consist of students who have previously been placed in a university, completed a university, or withdrawn their registration from a university. Students who experience regret as a result of career choices that do not align with their personality traits, interests, and abilities try to find a more suitable department for themselves by preparing for the exam again.”
59% of students were placed in their top 5 preferences, what about those in the other percentile…
Tözeniş pointed out that only 59% of the students who took the 2022 YKS were placed in one of their top 5 preferences, saying, “These students might have written their own dreams in the top ranks, or perhaps fulfilled the dreams of their close circles. The students in the remaining percentile might have been placed in the departments they wanted, or perhaps they wrote down departments they didn't want just to register at a university.” She then invited students who had doubts to take the career test.
Results can be evaluated online with career experts
Exp. Psych. Couns. Ece Tözeniş stated that the Career Test, also known as the ‘Holland Vocational Preference Inventory,’ consists of 90 questions. Tözeniş said, “The candidates' answers of ‘I like’ or ‘I dislike’ to the questions reveal their personality type. In the Career Test, where the prominent characteristics of types identified as ‘Realistic’, ‘Investigative’, ‘Artistic’,
‘Social’, ‘Enterprising’, and ‘Conventional’ stand out, activities and typical professions suitable for these types are explained.”
The resulting scores are evaluated online with a career counselor…

Preference counselors guide according to career test results
Üsküdar Üniversitesi, as every year, will provide services to prospective students this year with expert guides to help them choose the right departments according to their scores. During the preference days, expected to take place in July, candidates can learn everything they are curious about, interpret the results of the career test with experts, and meet with the academic staff.
