“Best Oral Presentation” award goes to Üsküdar

The 5th International and 21st National Forensic Sciences Congress was organized by the Association of Forensic Medicine Specialists. Üsküdar University was represented at the congress by Prof. Aylin Yalçın Sarıbey, faculty member of the Forensic Sciences Department at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, along with her graduate students.
As part of the congress, various workshops, oral presentations, and poster presentations were delivered. PhD student Ayşe Öykü Tuncay received the “Best Oral Presentation” award in the field of forensic sciences for her study titled “Evaluation of the Transfer of Different Fiber Types to Human Hair within the Scope of Forensic Textiles.”

During the congress, held in Belek, Antalya, Prof. Aylin Yalçın Sarıbey led the presentation of seven oral and one poster presentation. Additionally, a workshop titled “The Use of Virtual Reality Technology in Forensic Science Education” was conducted in collaboration with PhD student Orkun Eruygun.

At the congress, Prof. Aylin Yalçın Sarıbey delivered speeches in two separate sessions titled “A Multidisciplinary Approach in Crime Scene Investigation” and “Ethical Violations in Forensic Sciences: Evaluation Through Case Studies.”

Awarded the Best Oral Presentation in the field of forensic sciences…

At the congress, Üsküdar University PhD student Ayşe Öykü Tuncay was awarded the Best Oral Presentation Award in the Field of Forensic Sciences for her study titled “Evaluation of the Transfer of Different Fiber Types to Human Hair within the Scope of Forensic Textiles.”

In this context, Üsküdar University graduate students, under the supervision of Prof. Aylin Yalçın Sarıbey, delivered the following oral presentations:

  • Asude Nur Algül, “Examination of Target Surface and Bullet Core Deformation in Shots Fired from Different Distances at Wooden Target Surfaces”
  • Asude Nur Algül, “Use of Markers in Forensic Sciences”
  • Gülhanım Erdoğan, “Examination of the Effects of 36 Gauge Shotguns on Target Surfaces”

In addition, a poster presentation titled “Examination of Crime Prevention Strategies within the Framework of Developmental and Risk Factors” was delivered by Bengisu İşcan under the supervision of Sarıbey.
