The fourth project launch meeting was held

The fourth of the Project Launch meetings organized by the Directorate of R&D and Innovation Policies of Üsküdar University was held. Project presentations were made during the meeting, which was attended by senate members and academics.

The meeting, held at the Üsküdar University Main Campus Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall, was attended by President of Üsküdar University Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan and Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör, as well as senate members and academics.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan wished success to the project owners

President of Üsküdar University Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, who attended the project launch meeting, expressed his appreciation for the presented projects and wished success to their owners.

Prof. Türker Tekin Ergüzel gave an R&D briefing presentation

The opening speech of the meeting was delivered by Üsküdar University Vice Rector Prof. Türker Tekin Ergüzel. Starting his speech with an R&D briefing presentation, Ergüzel shared the number of projects by researchers.

Ergüzel said: “There is one thing that has caught our attention this year. As of today, according to the data, the number of publications in the last 100 days is 91. That means we are progressing with approximately 0.9 publications per day.”

Assoc. Prof. Müge Ensari Özay: “Submitting project applications is very valuable”

Speaking at the meeting, Director of R&D and Innovation Policies Assoc. Prof. Müge Ensari Özay talked about the projects of research assistants and lecturers based on faculties and departments.

Assoc. Prof. Müge Ensari Özay emphasized the momentum in the university's research activities and pointed out the significant increase in the number of project applications. Referring to the fact that project acceptance processes can take time and require patience, Özay said: “Submitting project applications is very valuable. Just as important as submitting is having them accepted. This happens step by step. Some faculty members succeed on their first try, while younger academics gain experience over time. Over the past two years, the acceptance rate of our projects has increased.”

Project presentations were held during the meeting

Research Assistant Simge Kırteke from the Department of Visual Communication Design at Üsküdar University presented her project titled “The Role of Cognitive Neuroscience Tools in the Empathic Design Approach: A Case Study on Generation Z within the Framework of the Neurodesign Concept.”

Asst. Prof. Filiz Eyüpoğlu from the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Üsküdar University presented her project titled “The Effect of Functional Training of Respiratory Muscles on Diaphragm Function and Core Stabilization in Patients with Chronic Non-Specific Low Back Pain.”

Research Assistant İrem Gülfem Albayrak from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (English) at Üsküdar University presented her project titled “Investigation of the Effect of NHE6 Gene Modulation on the Expression of Genes Associated with Alzheimer’s Disease.”

Then, BrainPark Incubation Center Entrepreneur and Beezsoft Software Consulting Company Founder Günalp Uysal gave his presentation. Uysal talked about their “Mobile NST Device” project, which aims to address the discomfort of current NST devices used in hospitals. He also emphasized their goal to be involved in TÜBİTAK projects.

 

Sapling certificates were awarded

After the project presentations, sapling certificates were presented to the project owners by President of Üsküdar University Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan.

Then, Assoc. Prof. Müge Ensari Özay, Director of R&D and Innovation Policies, delivered the ARGEYEP Executive Board activity presentation.

The launch meeting ended with a group photo after answering questions from the participants.
