Üsküdar University Vice Rector Prof. Türker Tekin Ergüzel was awarded the "2025 Golden Axon Leadership" award given by the Brain Mapping Foundation.

Prof. Ergüzel became the second scientist from Türkiye to be deemed worthy of this award.

This year's meeting of the Association for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT), which Üsküdar University and NPİSTANBUL Hospital have partnered with in the global Neuro-Technology Consortium in psychiatry and have participated in for more than 10 years, was held in Los Angeles between February 27 and March 2, 2025.

Lasting 3 days, At the 22nd Neuro-Technology Congress, Prof. Türker Ergüzel from Üsküdar University was awarded the "Golden Axon Leadership" award given by the US-based World Brain Mapping Foundation (WBMF) for his innovative studies in the field of neuroscience.

Prof. Ergüzel, one of the researchers whom President of Üsküdar University and Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan inspired and contributed to the development of in the fields of artificial intelligence pre-diagnosis in psychiatric diseases, neurotechnology applications, big data analysis, computational neuroscience and digital therapeutics (DTx), became the second scientist to be deemed worthy of this award after Prof. Nevzat Tarhan from Türkiye.

SBMT meetings make significant contributions to scientific development

In his speech at the award ceremony, Prof. Ergüzel stated that the SBMT meetings he has attended for 10 years have made significant contributions to research and scientific development to increase the welfare of society and improve patient care by transforming new technologies into life-saving diagnosis and treatment methods.

In his speech, Prof. Ergüzel stated that he believes that this success is a step that contributes to the inspiring productivity of Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, who has made a great contribution to his development, the support he gives to researchers, and his passion to keep the scientific research culture alive in our country by making use of international references.
