Medical students shaped their future plans at the "Career Day in Medicine 1" event
Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine Department of General Surgery Faculty Member Prof. Murat Kalemoğlu met with medical students at the "Career Day in Medicine 1" event. During the event, career plans after graduation and various fields of the medical profession were discussed in detail, including opportunities in medicine both in Türkiye and abroad. Important information was also shared with students about specialization and academic career paths, as well as the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination).

New developments in USMLE and career opportunities abroad were discussed
Students were also informed about changes in the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination), which is required to practice medicine in the United States. It was emphasized that the new partners of the exam, ECFMG (Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates), would continue the certification process, but the authority to conduct the exams has been transferred to USMLE’s partners. Furthermore, preparation processes for the USMLE, the exam format, and important points to pay attention to were discussed in detail.
Medicine abroad was discussed
Prof. Murat Kalemoğlu also talked about the medical processes in countries like the USA, UK, Italy, Germany, Finland, Canada, and Australia. Detailed information was provided about the equivalency exams, internship requirements, language prerequisites, and working conditions in these countries. It was emphasized that the USMLE offers opportunities to practice medicine not only in the USA but also in many other countries.
