Üsküdar University, which has expanded the boundaries of scientific cooperation in the international arena, has now signed a protocol with the University of Crete. At the protocol signing ceremony held with the participation of Prof. Erasmia I. Koiliari and Prof. Emmanouil L. Pasparakis from the University of Crete, attention was drawn to genotyping and phenotyping in psychiatric studies.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: "I think there are many areas where we can cooperate"
President of Üsküdar University Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan made the opening speeches and stated that "We have established some centers in the field of neuropsychiatry with the support of our NPİSTANBUL Hospital. Personalized treatment-oriented centers. The first pillar is the blood level of the drug that performs therapeutic drug monitoring. In the meantime, we make a preliminary diagnosis of genetic polymorphism. The second is the laboratory of pharmacogenetics. In this laboratory, we conduct pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies of drugs. We routinely apply these studies to our patients. There are also neuromodulation treatments. We are also starting stem cell therapies in autistic people. For this reason, I think there are many areas where we can cooperate."

Stating that Üsküdar has made significant progress in neuropsychiatry and neuroscience studies, Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör said that "As a university, we are moving forward on the axis of health sciences. Our priority in education is also to be a good research university. We are a defined university designated as a center of excellence by TWAS-UNESCO. As a university, we attach great importance to research. It is a strong university with its laboratory infrastructure and research structure. The Neuropsychiatry Hospital, which forms our infrastructure, is the most prominent neuropsychiatry hospital in Europe that supports us in health and medical sciences. Therefore, we are making significant progress in neuropsychiatry and neuroscience studies. At the same time, we are trying to guide the society with a number of important social responsibility projects and research projects at the social level in science and technology studies in Türkiye, and to lead the society in social development and development in scientific studies. We are doing a lot of research that advances within the neuroscience paradigm in both the field of health and humanities, which opens up to the world with digitalization."
