Mehmet Güleryüz: "SETEM is executing very important projects"

Pointing out that the main purpose of the 'My Work' project is to raise awareness about copyrights, SETEM President and Director Mehmet Güleryüz said that "This year is the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of our professional association; therefore, it is very important to us. Our SETEM journey, which we started with small steps, makes very important collaborations both internationally and on behalf of our country and carries out very important projects. In 2010, Nuri Bilge Ceylan and Semih Kaplanoğlu received the first copyright from abroad and gave it to them in our country. We have created SETEM Academy within our own structure. The academy aims to bring the students of the faculty of communication together with the sector. The main purpose of our 'My Work' project is to raise awareness about copyrights and we hold information meetings at universities on this subject. We also transfer our sectoral experiences."

Dr. Ziya Tashkent: "There should be a competition format to encourage production"

Mentioning that the fourth year of the project is proof that it will continue regularly, General Director of Copyright Dr. Ziya Taşkent said that "The fact that this project is now in its fourth year is proof that it will continue on a regular basis. The fact that the project is aimed at university students and young people, the sooner you spread awareness to the masses, the more you will provide and expand the opportunity to deliver a healthier functioning system, since our subject is copyright awareness. The fact that this is within the framework of the competition means that those who do not receive an award do not win. Of course, it is needed to be a competition format to encourage people to produce."

Prof. Nazife Güngör: "If science and art are combined, we can do our part for a better humanity"

Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör stated that "If art and science coexist, they are beneficial to humanity and save humanity because science is the knowledge production side of the business, and on the other hand, art is the emotion and spiritual expression. If the two are together, both knowledge will be beneficial to humanity. In other words, for example, the scientist who splits the atom and finds the particles of the atom. If that knowledge could be wrapped in art, it would not have to turn it into an atomic bomb and destroy the masses. It must be organized and establish a system in all kinds of work, in all kinds of human endeavors. If science and art are combined, we can do our part for a better humanity. Otherwise, we should not be too hopeful. If we are going to continue to gather here, we have hope for humanity. We are in the right place because the field of communication is just such a thing. The field of communication is a place where both science and art are synthesized together."
