Courtesy visit from Üsküdar to new Provincial Director of National Education
Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör and the accompanying delegation visited the recently appointed İstanbul Provincial Director of National Education Assoc. Prof. Murat Mücahit Yentür in his office. Wishing Yentür success in his new position, Güngör exchanged ideas on the continuation and development of cooperation in education on many matters, especially the Science and Idea Festival for high schools.
Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör, Vice Rector Prof. Muhsin Konuk, Secretary General Selçuk Uysaler and Head of Corporate Communications Department Tahsin Aksu attended the visit held at the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education.
During the visit, which was held in a very friendly environment, Rector Güngör and the accompanying delegation conveyed their congratulations to the recently appointed Assoc. Prof. Murat Mücahit Yentür.
The exchange of ideas was made on the development and continuation of cooperation in education in the new period.
Who is Assoc. Prof. Murat Mücahit Yentür?
Murat Mücahit Yentür was born in Maden, Elazığ. Yentür, who completed his primary and secondary education in Maden, studied high school in Yalova. Yentür, who started his undergraduate life at Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Geography, completed his graduate education in different departments at İstanbul University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Geography and Hasan Kalyoncu University, Department of Leadership and Global Entrepreneurship.
Yentür, who completed his doctorate at Marmara University Institute of Educational Sciences, earned the title of associate professor in the field of educational sciences. Believing that education is a lifelong process, Yentür continues his master's studies in the Department of Educational Administration and Supervision at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Institute of Graduate Education.
In addition to his academic studies, he worked as a visiting professor at İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, Faculty of Education, Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling, İzmir Democracy University Faculty of Education and Ege University Institute of Educational Sciences.
Yentür has authored numerous articles in national and international refereed journals, presented papers at various symposiums and authored book chapters. Moreover, he continued his studies by participating in projects on "Improving In-Service Training of Teachers" at Birmingham City University in England and Interer Beira University in Portugal.
Yentür, who started his career as a teacher at İstanbul Yavuz Selim Primary School, which is affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, worked as Vice Principal at Fatih Ahmet Rasim Anatolian High School, Head Manager Assistant Principal at Pertevniyal High School, and School Principal at Bahçelievler Anatolian High School and Çapa Anatolian Teacher High School/Science High School.
Yentür, who served as Şişli District Director of National Education between 2014-2021 and İzmir Provincial Director of National Education between 18.08.2021 and 25.08.2023, was appointed as İstanbul Provincial Director of National Education on 29.08.2023.
