Üsküdar University, which has 70 patent applications (Turkish Patent) in the national field, has registered 7 of these applications by the Turkish Patent and 3 of the 12 patent applications in the international field by the European Patent Office. Üsküdar University, which has been caring about R&D studies since the day it was founded, ranks first in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics when the department's patent application performance is examined.
The Midwifery Department comes as the second department which has the most patent potential.
The areas among the patent applications applied for or registered are as follows: Drug Molecules, Genetic Treatment Solutions; Vaccines, Immunotherapy AI-supported-Health, Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Consultancy Systems.
With 12 patent applications, Üsküdar University ranks 2nd among foundation universities
The success of Üsküdar University, which attaches importance to R&D studies, was also confirmed by the announcement of the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank. In his statement, Varank stated that 14 universities are among the top 50 organizations that apply for patents, and 333 patents and utility model applications have been made by universities when the statistics of TÜRKPATENT for the first 6 months of 2022 are examined. He pointed out that Üsküdar University ranked second with 12 applications among the universities with the highest number of patent applications.
