Honorary Doctorate - Prof. Dr. Norman Moore

DOCTORATE JUSTIFICATION

Üsküdar University Senate decided to award the title of"Honorary Doctorate" to Prof. Dr. Norman Moore, a renowned American Psychiatrist, for his Electrophysiology studies in Basic Neuropsychiatric and Clinical fields, as well as his support to Turkish Electrophysiology science, his transfer of his experiences to young colleagues in the best way, his contributions to the literature in his field and his important representation in the international arena.

Prof. Dr. Norman Moore

BACKGROUND

American psychiatrist. Born August 1, 1938. He completed his undergraduate studies in medicine at Queen's University in Ireland in 1964. After completing his PhD at the same university, he trained in Psychiatry at the Royal Air Force in London. In 1990, he completed the "Advanced Training Program in Biomedical Research Management" at Harvard University. He is the recipient of four high honorary degrees from the American Psychiatric Association and the Royal College Psychiatric Association, as well as the Mental Illness Research Award, the Exemplary Psychiatrist Award, the Distinguished Researcher of the Year Award, and the Excellence in Medical Student Education Award. With 98 scientific articles, Prof. Dr. Moore is currently a professor of Psychiatry and director of the research department of the Psychiatry department at East Tennessee State University in the USA. With the decision of Üsküdar University Senate in 2017, he was awarded the title of "Honorary Doctorate".
