Kariyer Testi

Hans Morgenthau, who studied law at the universities of Berlin, Frankfurt, and Munich, is known for his work in the field of international relations. Morgenthau moved to Geneva in 1932 and, following Hitler’s rise to power, was unable to return to his homeland, Germany.

Morgenthau taught in Madrid from 1935 to 1936, emigrated to the United States in 1937, and became a U.S. citizen in 1943. Morgenthau taught at Brooklyn College in the U.S., as well as at numerous institutions of higher education, including those in Missouri and Chicago. In 1948, he published *International Politics: The Struggle for Power and Peace*, a work considered a classic in the theory of international relations. This book established the six principles of “Realism” in the theory of international relations. Morgenthau, who analyzed international relations based on human nature, argued that international politics reflects the selfish and malevolent nature of human beings and that, accordingly, states’ pursuit of power and national interests shapes international politics. Morgenthau passed away in New York in 1980.
