We Hosted Students from Ankara Itri Fine Arts High School

We hosted the students of Ankara Itri Fine Arts High School at our faculty on April 2–3 as part of a campus visit and workshop program.

The Department of Cartoon and Animation at Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication welcomed Ankara Itri Fine Arts High School to the campus. During the two-day visit program, students had the opportunity to get to know the faculty closely, meet with academics, and participate in hands-on workshops. The visit took place under the supervision of Ankara Itri Fine Arts High School teachers Korkut Gültekin, Bünyamin Oğuz, and Kader Yıldız.

First day: Introduction, Q&A, and workshops

The first day of the program began with a campus tour coordinated by the Department of Corporate Communications. The students were shown the laboratories and introduced to the common areas of the faculty. Afterwards, Research Assistant Onur Coşkun and Research Assistant Hüsna Tosun delivered promotional presentations about the faculty and the department.

Later in the day, Assoc. Prof. Cem Tutar (Head of the Department of Cartoon and Animation), Research Assistant Hüsna Tosun, Research Assistant Onur Coşkun, and Lecturer Yağmur Bulut answered the students' questions. In the afternoon session, Assoc. Prof. Cem Tutar, Research Assistant Hüsna Tosun, Research Assistant Onur Coşkun, and Baran Kahraman (Research Assistant from the Department of Visual Communication Design) provided the students with information about university life and the dynamics of the faculty of communication. In the final part of the day, a workshop on the TouchDesigner program was conducted by Research Assistant Baran Kahraman in MAC LAB-1.

Second day: Animation workshop and closing

On the second day of the program, a two-dimensional animation workshop was organized in the Design Lab by Lecturer Dr. Özge Kaya from the Department of Cartoon and Animation. The students had the opportunity to experience animation production processes through hands-on training.

Later in the day, under the coordination of the Department of Corporate Communications; certificates of participation were presented to the students and teachers by Department Head Assoc. Prof. Cem Tutar, Lecturer Dr. Özge Kaya, Asst. Prof. Harun Türkmenoğlu, and Research Assistant Hüsna Tosun. Following the closing speeches, the program concluded with a group photo session.
