The conference titled “Sufism in Saudi Arabia Since 1979: The Politics of Orthodoxy in Contemporary Islam” will explore the role of Sufism in the modern Islamic world and its interaction with political dynamics. Featuring Dr. Besnik Sinani from the University of Tübingen, the event will provide an in-depth analysis of the relationship between religious structures and politics through the case of Saudi Arabia.
The event will take place on April 29, 2026, between 19:00–20:30 at Fuat Sezgin Conference Hall, Üsküdar University South Campus, and is open to all interested participants.
