The state was trying to provide social protection to these children who were placed under the protection of the state with a court decision, but no results could be obtained because they could not be given a sense of family.
As a result of our close observation and case follow-ups as the Üsküdar University team, we determined that these children were victims of multiple traumas and that their brain functions were impaired in a way that required medication. We came to the conclusion that social, individual and vocational rehabilitation would not yield results without medical treatment. For this reason, we prepared a package that included clinical treatment. A team of 36 psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, child development specialists, psychiatric nurses worked for a year, including a ministry representative.
