Aristotle

Aristotle, or Aristotle for short, is a Greek philosopher and sage who lived in Ancient Greece during the classical period. Plato and Aristotle are considered as one of the most important philosophers in the history of thought. He wrote works in logic, physics, biology, zoology, astronomy, metaphysics, ethics, aesthetics, spirit, psychology, linguistics, economics, politics and rhetoric.

Aristotle is one of the leading figures of Ancient Greek philosophy. He wrote works in many disciplines such as logic, physics, biology, zoology, astronomy, metaphysics, ethics, aesthetics, spirit, psychology, linguistics, economics, politics and rhetoric, many of which were the founders of the discipline, and his works formed the basis of scientific activity in Europe and the Islamic geography until the development of modern science in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Ideas and the Understanding of Reality

Aristotle, who opposed Plato's idea of ideas, approached the understanding of reality from a different perspective. While Plato accepted ideas as real, Aristotle rejected this and considered only beings perceived through the senses as real. According to him, the reality of beings is limited to what we can hold in our hands and see.

Aristotle's Understanding of Psychology and Logic

In psychology, Aristotle saw the soul as a part of the body and argued that the soul is the form of the body. With the concept of tenasüh, he claimed that the soul passes into another existence after death. In the field of logic, he followed Plato's footsteps and searched for truth in objects. The difference, however, is that Aristotle did not seek truth in ideal forms, but in objects themselves.

Aristotle's philosophical views had a profound impact on Western thought. His ideas in many fields such as logic, metaphysics, ethics and politics became an important source of reference in the Middle Ages and Renaissance periods. Even today he is remembered for his contributions to philosophical thought.
