Sermin KESEBİR, MD

Prof. Sermin Kesebir completed the Dokuz Eylül Medical Faculty in 1995. She completed her psychiatry specialty education at Ege University Psychiatry Department. After doing compulsory service in Kırıkkale High Specialty Hospital, she got the title of associate professor at Adnan Menderes University in 2008. Between 2009 and 2014, she was the head of the acute psychosis service as an educational officer at Erenköy Mental and Neurological Diseases Training and Research Hospital.

She holds memberships in Psychiatry Association of Turkey - Scientific Work of Mood Disorders, Abdülkadir Özbek Psychodrama Institute, Halime Odağ Foundation-Psychoanalytical Psychotherapists, Bipolar Life Association, The American Psychiatric Association (APA), the International Association of Bipolar Disorders (ISBD) and the International Mood Disorders Association (ISAD). Prof. Sermin Kesebir's main interests and areas of interest are mood disorders (depressive disorders and bipolar-bilateral disorders-manic-depressive illness), consultation lyceum psychiatry and psychoanalytic psychotherapies.

She wrote the following sections; Turkish Psychiatric Association, Scientific Work Unit for Mood Disorders, “Treatment of depression accompanied by somatic symptoms”; in the Depression Treatment Guide; and ''Eating disorders are comorbid depression treatment''; Psychoanalytic Psychotherapies Scientific Study Unit, “;Heinz Kohut (1913-1981) and Self Psychology”; in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapies book; The Women's Mental Health Scientific Work Unit has received 'Women and Mood Disorders' sections in the Women's Life and Women's Mental Health book.
