Born in İskenderun, Selahattin AKTI completed his primary and secondary education in the same city and attended Ankara University, Al-Azhar University (Cairo) and Istanbul University, respectively, for his undergraduate education. He completed his master's degree at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University (Frankfurt) in Germany. In 2016, he received his doctorate degree from the same university with his thesis titled "Die Bedeutung des Übels in der Existenzphilosophie des bedeutenden islamischen Mystikers und Theosophen Ibn Arabi", in which he studied what evil could mean in Ibn Arabi's philosophy of being. He received the title of Associate Professor in 2021 at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, where he has been working since 2017. In addition to Turkish, he has carried out various academic studies in German and Arabic, some of which are copyrighted and some of which are translations. Ibn Arabis Lexikon der sufischen Terminologie als Schlüssel zum Einstieg in Seine Gedankenwelt (2016), Gott und das Übel; Die Theodizee- Frage in der Existenzphilosophie des Mystikers Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi (2016) (This work was also published in Turkish under the title of The Problem of Being and Evil in Ibn Arabi-2018) and Dînî, Siyasi ve Felsefi Arka Planıyla Hayy bin Yakzân (Hayy bin Yakzân with its Religious, Political and Philosophical Background) (2023) are his prominent works.
