Muhteber DURMUŞ, Assistant Professor

Muhteber DURMUŞ was born in Istanbul. She completed her primary and secondary education in Istanbul. In 2013, she was admitted to the Faculty of Dentistry at Karadeniz Technical University and graduated with Honors in 2018. In 2021, she was admitted to the Department of Orthodontics at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University through the Dental Specialty Examination (DUS). In 2025, she was awarded the title of Specialist in Orthodontics certified by the Turkish Ministry of Health. Her specialty thesis, titled “A Comparative 3D Finite Element Analysis of Mandibular Advancement with Clear Aligners and Twin Block Appliances,” which compares the clear aligner mandibular advancement appliance and the twin block appliance used in the treatment of Class II malocclusion through three-dimensional finite element analysis, was published as an article in BMC Oral Health (BMC Oral Health. 2025;25(1):1954. doi:10.1186/s12903-025-07336-w. PMID: 41462192; PMCID: PMC12750811. SCI-Expanded, Q1). She performs a wide range of treatments including fixed orthodontic treatment, appliance therapy, clear aligner therapy, orthognathic surgery treatment, and wrinkle reduction procedures. She has participated in numerous seminars and courses related to her field. DURMUŞ has started her academic appointment at the Department of Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, Üsküdar University.
