Meltem NARTER, Ph.D

Born in 1974. In 1996, she completed her undergraduate degree in the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Literature, İstanbul University and graduated from the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of İstanbul with a master's degree in Psychology in 1998.

In 2002, she received the title of doctor with doctoral thesis on “Republican Identity of College Youth”; at Institute of Social Sciences of İstanbul University, Psychology Department. Between 1998-2004, she worked as a research assistant in Social Psychology Department of Psychology Department of İstanbul University and Assistant Professor in the same department between 2004-2008. Between 2008 and 2014, she served as Assistant Professor at Department of Psychology, Social Psychology Department of İstanbul Aydın University. She received second place with the name with a research on “The Second Generation's Republican Identity Identifications” in 2002 which was hosted the Ministry of the Interior, Department of Publications entitled “The Republic of Turkey by the Wilderness”. Completed the “Social Representations of Psychoanalysis in Turkey” supported by the Scientific Research Projects Unit of the İstanbul University. The study was formed in a book and published in 2012 which was awarded the success prize of the 2012 Psychoanalytical Writings by the Istanbul Psychoanalytical Society. Narter, who speaks English, is currently a faculty member of the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Üsküdar University.

She has published articles and congress presentations in national and international journals. Academic interests include; social representations, identity, qualitative methods and cinema.
